Detroit 2011: Audi A6 Hybrid, pictures and specifications

Audi unveiled today A6 Hybrid in Detroit, the second model after Q5 Hybrid Hybrid Quattro.

As expected, this car wears the same technology used on other hybrid model: a 211 hp 2.0 TFSI engine mated to an electric motor that delivers 33 kW (45 hp) and torque of 211 Nm. Just as in the case of Quattro Q5 Hybrid, the transmission sends torque to the front wheels.

Lithium-ion battery provides 1.3 kWh of electricity and generates 39 kW nominal, is located in a protected area in the trunk. In order to maintain an optimum temperature, the battery is cooled by air in two ways: via a fan inside or through an internal cooling circuit coupled to the automatic air conditioning.


In terms of performance, the car can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h in pure electric mode in this case and has a range of 3 km if the driver maintains a constant speed of 60 km/h. Audi A6 Hybrid can sprint to 100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of 238 km/h. Average fuel consumption is 6.2 liters per 100 km, while CO2 emissions are of 142 grams per km.
