The new Kia Picanto comes to Geneva
Kia announces the launch of the new Picanto generation at the Geneva Motor Show, which will take place in March 2011. South Korean Picanto will be available in showrooms shortly after its official debut.
In order to attract interest on the new Picanto, the auto manufacturer has issued two sketches that were meant to highlight design lines of the model. Preceding this image was the presentation of a life-sized sculptures that portray the car at the Motor Show in Bologna.

The new Picanto generation was created by Kia’s European design office, located in Frankfurt, Germany, subordinated to the chief designer Peter Schreyer. New model will share the platform with the Hyundai i10 and will be longer and wider than the current generation.
Also, it will be equipped with new petrol engines and with three-cylinder turbodiesel and the car could have a starting price of around 8500 euros.
Future Kia Picanto will compete with cars like Peugeot 107, Citroen C1, Chevrolet Spark, Toyota Aygo and the future Volkswagen Up! It is possible that the car will be offered also in an electric version, a concept derived from Blueon Hyundai.
