Official: The new Audi A6, official details and images

Audi has released the first official images and details of the new A6 model which will debut in early 2011 at the Auto Show in Detroit. The model will have a hybrid version that offers 245 hp at a fuel consumption of just 6.2 litres/100 km.

The new Audi A6 has a lighter body, a sport chassis and a wide range of assistive technologies and multimedia systems. The design has undergone modifications which have resulted from a reduced height to 1.46 meters to ensure fair play and extra aggressiveness due to optional LED headlights. The model measures 4.92 meters in length and a width of 1.87 meters.


Inside, the board tipped to the driver places it in the lead role. Keeping the same delight note of the occupants of the “first seat”, the front seats can be optionally equipped with ventilation and massage.

Technologies can not be overlooked, the new A6 providing online service, developed in partnership with Google, which connects the large sedan class to the Internet via the car phone, providing access to Google Earth images and information, which are displayed on the monitor.

The new A6 will be initially offered with a range of engines consisting of five units: two petrol and three TDI’s. Engines available to customers produce between 177 and 300 hp and enjoy saving technologies such as the Start & Stop system, brake energy recovery and thermal management system.

Compared with the current range, auto manufacturer unveils a 19 percent reduction in fuel consumption. The best example in terms of efficiency is the 2.0 TDI engine coupled to a manual transmission: consumption of 4.9 liters per 100 km and a CO2 emission level of only 129 grams/km.
