The first images of Opel Antara facelift

Opel has released the first photos of the new Antara, SUV that has suffered a facelift in four years after its commercial launch. Regarding the design, it stands with the new front grille which hosts a bigger logo more centrally located, wax decorative chrome lights, a redesigned bumper and increased air intakes.

Rear lights have been changed, and the lights benefits of LED technology. Optionally, customers can choose 19-inch alloy wheels for added sportiness. The engine range has also been improved, respecting all Euro 5 pollution standards. Thrusters offer a low consumption, but also a low emission level.

On the diesel front, the new 2.2 CDTI turbo power comes in two versions. The 163hp unit offers with 36hp more than the previous model. 184hp version has 34 extra horsepower. Version with 163 hp is available with either front-wheel drive, or integrated, and also manual transmission or automatic. Unit with 184 hp has standard all-wheel drive system. Customers can choose either a manual transmission, or an automatic.

And gasoline version had to do with the extra power. 2.4 liter engine now develops 170hp, 30hp more than the previous generation.

Opel Antara Facelift will be officially presented at the Bologna Auto Show (4-12 December), its commercial debut being set for early 2011.
