New Mazda5 was officially launched in Europe after the previous generation was sold in 500,000 units worldwide.

The new Mazda5 has two engines, both petrol. New MZR engine, equipped with 2.0L DISI i-STOP system and a 6-speed manual gearbox develops 150 hp and maximum torque of 191 Nm. As a result of Mazda technology / off automatic restart of the engine, combined cosum was reduced by 13% compared to the old engine from 6.9 l/100km, while being reduced by 15% and CO2 emissions. Second MZR 1.8L engine is available, which develops 115 hp and maximum torque of 165 Nm. Fuel consumption was reduced by 4% to 7.2 l/100 km, while CO2 emissions were reduced by 6.1%. Both engines comply with Euro 5.

Externally, the new Mazda5 5-point grille integrates a range, lower bumper, new headlights and sculpted more pronounced. Is highlighted by sporty Mazda Nagare design language unique to the C-MAV segment (Compact Multi Activity Vehicle). To emphasize the design fresh and unique Mazda5 redesigned headlamps and were thus exacerbating the effect of linearity over the body. In addition, new 16 and 17 inch wheels have a three-dimensional look. The range includes 10 shades of colors, the latest being Clear Blue Water.

Inside, the emphasis is on comfort and functionality of the space. New Mazda5 with sliding rear doors and Karakuri system allows transportation of up to seven people, while offering the most generous legroom in the segment for the second and third row of seats.

To increase stability and better maneuverability, the new Mazda5 shows an improved chassis and new suspension. Regarding safety, the new Mazda5 is the first model includes the automatic brake system Brake Override System that automatically manages the brake and accelerator pedals if they are operated simultaneously. Passengers are protected from passive safety features including six air bags among other things, front, side and curtain, three-point belts, and seats and headrests deformable pedal to reduce impact on the head in an accident.

The new Mazda5 is equipped with a comprehensive range of active safety elements including ABS, electric brake distribution (EBD), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), electronic traction control (TCS), brake assist, signaling system in case Emergency (ESS) and sensors to monitor tire pressure.
