Citroen Lacoste, a small concept car at Paris auto show
The Citroen Lacoste concept for the Paris motor show combines bench seats, an inflatable canopy and fashion design cues into a unique small car.
Measuring 135.8 inches long–nearly three feet shorter than a Ford Fiesta–the Citroen Lacoste pushes its wheels to the corners with a 90.6-inch wheelbase.
There are no doors. A cutout on each side of the car opens the way to get to the front or rear bench seats.
There’s not much of a roof, either. An overhead spine runs from the rear of the car to the windshield header. Should passengers want protection from rain or sun, a canopy deploys from the overhead spine. For those who want more opening, the concept car’s windshield can be lowered.
Citroen says the concept is powered by a three-cylinder gasoline engine, but high speed is not the goal here.
