2011 Porsche Boxster first pictures
Code name 981. That future will be called the Porsche Boxster, youngest child of German super-car. Here this model, which will officially launch at the Geneva Show in March next year, was removed for testing in Germany, with equipment mounted on it.
After the current Boxster generation called 987, here are the first pictures of generation 981, which is under development. It seems that changes next generation will be quite minor, both externally and internally. A new shape, more rounded, we can find on the outside, and in terms of mechanics, and there will be some “fireworks” that will highlight next generation different from the present. It’s a new suspension, better brakes and … about it.

About the engine, it looks like 2012 will be available for a 4-cylinder engine. Current engines, the 2.9 liter and 3.4 will probably be preserved, little enhanced what’s right. Both in terms of power and torque. To these are supposed to be added this 4-cylinder engine, a sort of entry-level version, done in collaboration with Vokswagen and Audi. In addition, Porsche has confirmed that work on three electric engines for next year, but other details are not known currently.
Even if the new Porsche Boxster was expected to appear in Paris this fall, it seems that Porsche will keep the surprise for next year, when it will be officially unveiled in Geneva.
